Troops Neutralise 7 Boko Haram Terrorists, Rescue 10 Victims In Borno



Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole has neutralised seven Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 10 persons in captive and recovered weapons in different clearance operations in Borno State.

The coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. John Enenche, said on March 28, 2020, troops of 26 Brigade Garrison of the land component of operation Lafiya Dole following credible intelligence conducted robust clearance operations along Gwoza-Pulka Road.

He said the troops during the operation neutralised a Boko Haram terrorist and recovered one magazine with 12 fabricated rounds.

Enenche also said that on March 31, 2020, troops of special response area in Pulka as well as 26 Task Force Brigade and men of Civilian Joint Task Force and hunters neutralised six terrorists and rescued 10 persons.

According to him, items recovered include two dane guns, one terrorist flag and other items.

In a similar vein, he stated that on March 30, 2020, troops of the 16 Brigade Garrison destroyed seven reservoirs used for storage of stolen crude oil as well as six Cotonou boats laden with illegal refined crude oil at kilometre 45 in Degema LGA of Rivers State.

The coordinator added that on March 31, 2020, troops of Operation AWATSE moved to Wawa area of Ogun State to effect arrests following intelligence reports on assembly of some trucks reported to be assembling to load PMS from a vandalised NNPC pipeline.

He said: “On sighting the troops, the pipeline vandals and truck drivers fled, abandoning hoses, tools for insertion into the vandalised pipeline, as well as eight trucks of 33,000 litres capacity each and a Toyota Saloon car.”

According to him, the abandoned items and vehicles were recovered by the troops. He assured the general public of the Armed Forces commitment to protect the economic assets of Nigeria.
