AMAC Chairman, Others Test Negative To COVID-19



Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido, including other officials and political appointees of the area council have tested negative to the deadly coronavirus.

Briefing newsmen in Abuja yesterday, Candido disclosed that after the council secretary, Mrs. Abisola Abdullahi, tested positive to the virus, he led other officials and political appointees of the council, to undergo the COVID-19 test, last week, of which the results turned out negative.

Candido added that the COVID-19 test, conducted by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on 22 other officials of the council, who had a face-to-face interaction with the council secretary, also came out negative.

He maintained however, that the council shall continue to observe all the COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines in order to ensure that members of staff and visitors coming to the council are safe.

The council chairman also advised residents of AMAC to voluntarily go for COVID-19 test, if they come across any unusual state of health in their system, so that they can further be sure of what they are passing through, adding that coronavirus is real.

He stated that efforts are in place to collaboration with community leaders to trace any resident of the council who tested positive to the virus, adding that the council would not compromise the health status of the citizen.
