Eleazu expressed the fear of the Igbo living in Lagos and every part of the country when he paid a courtesy visit to the former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Bode George, in his office in Ikoyi, Lagos.

He said Igbo are primarily in Lagos to make a living, adding that because of the threat and intimidation netted out to them during and after the general election, they now live in fear.

According to him, elders and groups in Igbo land have taken it upon themselves to appeal to elders in Yoruba to talk to their people not to see Igbos as enemies.

‘’In the last election, it turned out to be a do or die affair. If you do a content analysis of the just concluded elections, the words that were used were worrisome. These are words that create fear in the minds of people. In the last election, it went beyond that.

“In an attempt to dissuade people from voting, we saw one ethnic nationality brought out to be antagonized and given names. This had nothing to do with politics and it created fear in an attempt to degrade and dissuade people from coming out to vote.’’

Responding, George  expressed surprise that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu has not reprimanded his former campaign spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, over his anti-Igbo comments during the general election.

He said the action of Onanuga deserved condemnation from all well-meaning Nigerians.
