Speaking at a  press conference in Kaduna yesterday, the group congratulated all Nigerians on the general elections, specifically  president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and  vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima.

The group reiterated support for their success  and commended Nigerians for their patriotism before and after the elections.

He said; “We praise the president-elect for vocally expressing his wish for equity, justice and fairness to all Nigerians irrespective of region, religion, tribe or ethnicity.

“With these, the Youth Progressive Initiative in the North aligns and endorses Senator Godswill Akpabio and Senator Jibril Barau.

“Nigeria belongs to everybody and we have six zones, hence the need to zone the senate presidency. The president-elect assured Nigerians that his administration would be fair. We want all regions in the country to be carried along in the leadership of NASS.

“We want the senate presidency to go to the South and the deputy senate presidency to the North West. With this, every geo-political zone will be carried along. The North West of course gave the highest votes,  but  for fairness, we want Nigeria to be for Nigerians, let everyone have a sense of belonging.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu calculates, he is an achiever and wants to carry everybody along. We are talking about Nigeria, we are talking about fairness and equity.”
