Experts Urge Farmers To Adopt Organic Fertiliser

Professor Sani Yusuf of the National Agricultural Extension Research and Liaison Services (NAERLS/ABU) Zaria has advised farmers to adopt the use of organic fertiliser in their farms for agricultural development.

He gave the advice at the farmers field day on tomatoes organised by the BPZ-BP Ltd in conjunction with Kaduna State Agricultural Agency (KADA) at Rafin Tabo, Kurmin  Kogi in Ikara local government at the weekend.

He said the field day is to showcase the performance of the organic product named “Arisetech Soil Conditioner” which is purely natural without any chemical use in the farm such as fertiliser or herbicide.

According to him, with this development farmers will gain more if they returned to the organic product in their farming processes.

The agricultural expert called on the producers of the Arisetech Soil Conditioner to arrange a market for farmers so that they will benefit more at the end.

In his remarks, the general manager Kaduna State Agricultural Development Agency (KADA) Abubakar Bayero commended the BPZ-BP Ltd for accepting to be in Kaduna and to partner with them.

Represented by director Agricultural Services, Malam Adamu Usman, he said KADA is ready to partner fully with them and it will use its avenue to enlighten farmers in the state on the benefit of the organic fertiliser in their farming activities. He commended the Lead Farmer for accepting the trial in his farm.

On the performance of the organic product the director, Operators BPZ-BP Ltd, Chyke Samuel said the product has no effect on health either by human beings or animals.

The lead farmer Malam Yusuf Rabo Rafin Tabo said, the organic fertiliser is very effective and that it had increased the farm produce.

Rabo added that he didn’t use herbicide and fertiliser throughout, only that the products when applied more water will be needed to complement its services.
