Zamfara Stakeholders Tackle Jaji Over Comment On Tinubu’s Victory

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Defense Coalition for the 2023 general election has tackled an aspirant for the House of Representatives, Hon Sani Aminu Jaji for claiming responsibility for the votes President-elect Bola Tinubu got in North West and Zamfara State.

The group said Jaji’s claim was an attempt to discredit the State Governor, Bello Matawalle and Sen Abdulazeez Yari.

Addressing journalists during a press conference in Abuja yesterday, the national chairman of the coalition, Dr Shuaibu Suleiman Shinkafi and Coalition national secretary, Comrade Anas Abdullahi Kaura, said the claim by Jaji are false and misleading.

The coalition said Jaji who was only the director of Contact and Mobilization of the Tinubu/Shetima Presidential Campaign in Zamfara State cannot be more influential than Governor Matawalle who was chairman of the Presidential Campaign in the state.

“The victory of the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Zamfara state was the result of the hard work, commitment, and political campaign of the governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle, and Senator Abdulaziz Yari.

“Matawalle established and declared opened all the campaign offices in the North West states of Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa and Sokoto,”he said.

Speaking further, he called on the President-elect Ahmed Tinubu not to consider any of the APC members who worked with the opposition against the APC for any national position or national assignment because they are unworthy of trust, and because they have the propensity to be disloyal.

“We are calling on all citizens of Zamfara state to leave  Matawalle and Senator Abdulaziz Yari alone. Nobody should harass them or bother them and they have performed their utmost best for Zamfara state.

“We want to state that  Bello Matawalle Senator Abdulaziz Yari is committed to the success of the APC, the success of democracy and the peace and stability of Nigeria.

The group insisted that Jaji has never for once attended their strategic meetings at Zonal level despite the fact that he claimed to be the director of contact and mobilization.

“The level of investment Matawalle and Yari made on the Tinubu project and that commitments required no media propaganda because some of us at the helm of affairs at that time knew very well that the engine rooms that drove the Tinubu campaign process in Zamfara were Matawalle. Yari and Sen. Kabiru Garba Marafa”, the coalition added.
