The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Biu, has directed the immediate recall of a patrol team at the Egbeda unit command in Ogun State for allegedly assaulting a motorist.

Biu gave the order after the release of the now viral video in which a member of the patrol team was seen slapping a motorist.

The officer of the Corps was captured in a viral video slapping a yet-to-be-identified motorist, who confronted him for allegedly breaking his windscreen.

The FRSC said the officer’s action was tantamount to incivility, stressing that the provocative act as captured on camera “is a complete contravention of the Federal Road Safety Corps’ standard operating procedures for officers on patrol operations.”

The Corps Marshal also directed the Corps Intelligence Office alongside the Corps Provost Office to commence “with immediate effect, a full and comprehensive investigation into the entire circumstances that propelled the officer into the uncivil act and make necessary recommendations for swift administrative action.”
