Feb 25 Poll: Atiku, PDP To Present 100 Witnesses Before Tribunal

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have told the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) sitting at the Court of Appeal headquarters in Abuja, that no fewer than 100 witnesses will testify for them in their petition challenging the election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect in the February 25 poll.

Their lawyer, Chief Chris Uche (SAN), disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja at the resumption of proceedings before the Court.

Uche said the aniticipated 100 witnesses will include those already listed before the Court and those to be subpoenaed.

However, lawyer to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abubakar Mahmud, SAN, said his client who conducted the disputed election planned to call two witnesses only to defend the exercise.

On his part, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, is to call 39 witnesses to defend his challenged victory in addition to those to be subpoenaed.

Also, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which was jointly declared as winner of the February 25 presidential alongside Tinubu announced its intention to call 25 witnesses to establish the victory in addition to those to be subpoenaed.
