The wife of the Vice President, Oludolapo Osinbajo has tasked Nigerian women to be goal-oriented as a means of reaching their greatest potential.

The second lady of Nigeria who spoke at the women’s summit organized by Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI) a not-for-profit organization of Zina Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, dedicated to empowering women and children to be self-sufficient and to transform the world, said women must identify their goals and intentional in the accomplishment of those goals.

She said the two-day summit, themed ‘Inspired To Be The Complete Woman’ should challenge women to examine all parts of themselves – visible and invisible, individual, home, work and community, and be inspired to reactivate the parts that require refueling.

“There is no football match without a goal post. When there is a goal post, then you can make up your mind to go your goals and to succeed. We need to focus. We need to be intentional. We need to choose to succeed. We need to choose to win, in spite of the many obstacles against those goals. I pray at the end of this conference everyone is inspired to be the best of themselves that they can be.”

Inspiring and enhancing women’s dignity and livelihood since 2008 through the provision of homes (204 two-bedroom houses) for indigent widows and orphans via its She Needs A Roof Programme (SNARP), and August Meeting which promotes culture and peace, Zinaria Okorocha said these efforts have made ‘little or unnoticeable impact” on the life of Nigerian women.

Hence, the conference is aimed at identifying the challenges of Nigerian women and providing the women the inspiration, knowledge and tools they need in order to be a complete woman.

A complete woman she said is not one with wealth, status, beauty, married, single or magnificent, rather one with a “feminine and nurturing spirit. The generous and noble spirit which elevates glory and honour far more than wealth and life. She is one who grants protection to the weak and indigent, dreading shame with association of dishonour.”

“As women, we must be intentional about our paths, our destinies, about the legacies we intend to leave behind. We are women, built to be nurturers and bridges of change. It is time we rise up and embrace the challenge of nation building,” concluded Okorocha.

The summit is further set to recognize the contributions of selected Nigerian women to the nation, who have given their time, talents and resources to promote the growth and development of women and their society.
