12-yr-old Student Wins LEADERSHIP Essay Contest

A 12-year-old student, Blessing Ugo, has emerged the Best Essay writer at the 2023 edition of LEADERSHIP Children’s Day Special Programme.

Blessing, a JSS 3 student of Great Miracle Montessori School Abuja, beat 14 other competitors to clinch the top prize at the competition.

The annual event took place at the corporate headquarters of LEADERSHIP Newspapers Group with the theme, “The Nigeria We Want”.

The event, with participation by over 35 school children from within Abuja, featured Spelling Bee, Logo Design Competition, Games and more.

Blessing was announced as the winner of the N50,000 grand cash prize and was awarded a certificate for her feat.

“I will give one-tenth of the money to God and the rest to my mother, who helped coach me,” she said.

The aspiring medical doctor was accompanied to the event by her Teacher, Mr Donald, whom she thanked for coaching and adequately preparing her for the competition.

Blessing also appreciated LEADERSHIP Newspapers Group for giving her the opportunity to express herself.
