The Kebbi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has called on the new governor of the state, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) to significantly involve youths in managing the affairs of the State.

In a statement signed by the NYCN chairman in the State, Engr. Ahmed Rufai Khalifah, he charged the new governor and his deputy, Senator Abubakar Umar (Tafidan Argungu) to prioritise youth inclusiveness by appointing capable young people to deliver on the policies and promises of the new administration.

The youth body also admonished the new administration to provide adequate opportunities for youths across the state to unleash their potential towards the development and advancement of Kebbi State.

The NYCN extolled the immediate-past governor of the State, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, for his giant strides in youth development while at the helm of affairs as Governor of Kebbi State, and urged the new governor to imbibe the youth-friendly policies of the administration while also building more on its achievements.

“The Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu-led administration has demonstrated unique connection that offered hope to the youthful population in Kebbi State with its friendly policy and inclusiveness.

“We are confident that the new administration will build more on that achievements to guarantee a more secure and productive environment suitable for the youths to participate in the leadership of Kebbi State and be well productive and profitable for those outside government,” Engr. Khalifa stated.

He also congratulated the outgoing governor on the successful transition of the APC administration in the State.

He congratulated Dr. Idris on his swearing-in as the fifth democratically elected governor of the state, and his deputy, Senator Umar.

The Kebbi NYCN chief further called on them to sustain the legacies of the Bagudu-led administration in youth development.

In the same vein, the NYCN chairman commended Senator Bagudu for the achievements recorded during his administration, especially in youth development.

“We thank His Excellency, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his visionary leadership which had impacted positively on the lives of so many youths of Kebbi state. Together with his wife, Dr Zainab Bagudu, the administration created thousands of opportunities which have birthed young entrepreneurs and policymakers in the state. History will forever be kind to them for a successful tenure,” he stated.

Similarly, the Kebbi NYCN Chairman congratulated the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his swearing-in on Monday as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He appealed to the incoming administration to saddle Senator Bagudu with bigger responsibility at the national level for him to continue his service to the nation.

Khalifah said this has become necessary considering that the outgoing governor recorded excellent achievements in agricultural revolution, rural development and youth inclusiveness during his tenure as Kebbi governor.
