The communication adviser of Tajudeen, Kalu campaign group, (TBK) and member-elect to represent Ideato North/South federal constituency of Imo State, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has said that contrary to reports that aggrieved speakership aspirants will plot against APC consensus candidates, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Hon. Benjamin Kalu, some members of the G-7 have shown interest to work with the anointed candidates.

Ugochinyere, who’s also the spokesman Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), said though he understands the feeling of the aggrieved aspirants, however, he believed they were all loyal party men and will do the needful by coming together to vote the ruling party’s consensus candidates for the leadership of the 10th House of Representatives.

He said while all the candidates have commendable qualifications, however, Abass and Kalu’s qualifications, legislative achievements top all.

Ugochinyere recalling endorsements so far garnered by Abass, Kalu, expressed optimism that the G-7 will soon back the duo.

He said, “Some members of the G-7 have shown interest to work with the ruling party’s consensus candidates. Just recently I and 62 members-elect expressed support for the duo. Also several Governors have pledged support for them.

“Abass and Kalu as men of integrity, and competent to preside the affairs of the tenth House of Representatives. We need a parliament that works, it is time to jettison personal and political sentiments, and come together for national development, growth and stability. We are hopeful that the aggrieved speakership aspirants will do the right thing which is backing Tajudeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu for Speaker, Deputy Speaker of the incoming tenth House of Representatives.”
