The Middle Belt Amalgamated Support Group for Tinubu otherwise known as Greater Together Youth Initiative has described the appointment of Sen George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) as just and equitable, a step in the right direction in the healing process and tasks him to use his wealth of experience in rebuilding the nation.

The group in a statement signed by its National Director Mr Francis Mathew said George Akume, has every thing it’s takes to help in rebuilding trust and supporting the President in renewing our hopes and “we are certain that Nigeria now has a workaholic who would make a difference”.

“The new SGF must impress on the government , with eyes on labour market problems solving not political patronage, should use his good office to impress on the Presidency to return to basics with respect to pension funds administration. Never again should there be extra-presidential committees on pension matters, the type that nurtured the likes of Maina.

Nigeria’s Economic recovery must be wage led so as to stimulate the economy towards productive spending by enhanced pay for workers which must go hand in hand with productivity improvement” he said.

The group also called on the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to promote efficiency and transparency in the affairs of government.
