Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, yesterday said he was ready to probe the eight years financial activities of his predecessor, former governor Darius Ishaku.

Kefas stated this while interacting with journalists at Government House in Jalingo.

He said he was observing and reading carefully the handover notes from the  past administration over its financial activities.

He said there was no need to set up a Judicial Commission of Enquiry to probe the activities since the state’s auditors were already working at the state ministries level.

“We will probe the activities of the recent past administration where necessary, we shall not hesitate to ask questions, we know there are contacts, we know some were commissioned.

“We shall look into the projects, government is a continuous process, though we are going to look inward before we commence work on the uncompleted projects that were commissioned,” he said.

LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the former governor left a debt of not less than N200 billion which was inherited by the Kefass administration. It was also reliably gathered that over 92 percent of the projects commissioned by the past governor in the state were uncompleted before his departure.
