Former Nigerian minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has taken on a new role as the managing partner of Ballard Partners, an international lobbying firm.

Ballard Partners, a renowned government relations firm based in the United States, announced its expansion into Africa with the opening of its first office in Abuja, Nigeria. Mohammed will serve as the managing partner for the Abuja office and oversee the firm’s satellite office in Lagos, and the nation’s financial center.

The appointment of Mohammed comes shortly after the dissolution of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet. Ballard Partners confirmed Mohammed’s new role in a statement issued on their official Twitter page on Tuesday.

The statement emphasized Mohammed’s respected status in Nigeria and highlighted his extensive experience in public service.

Brian Ballard, the president and founder of Ballard Partners, appreciated Mohammed for joining the firm and praised his outstanding reputation and exceptional experience. He noted that opening an office in Nigeria expands the firm’s international presence to three continents and builds upon their work on behalf of African nations and companies.

Mohammed has a long history of serving Nigeria and has been a prominent figure in the country’s political landscape.

He held the position of minister of Information and Culture for eight years, acting as the spokesperson, reputation manager, and information management strategist for the nation.
