Rapidly expanding public relations and reputation management consultancy, Blackhouse Media (BHM) has been ranked among 100 fastest-growing companies in Africa.

BHM appeared in the annual ranking published by the Financial Times earlier this month. FT, the leading business publication worldwide, has since 2022 published an annual list of Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies. This list ranks the annual growth of companies across Africa’s corporate landscape.

The rankings, which are developed in collaboration with market insights company Statista, considers absolute growth rate and compound annual growth rate in selecting organisations across the continent.

BHM joined 26 other Nigerian companies on the list and was among the youngest corporations recognised in the annual rankings. The public relations firm, occupying rank 87, was listed alongside juggernaut corporations like Dangote Cement, Julius Berger, and Sterling Bank, among others.

“BHM has enjoyed tremendous support from clients and partners and from the public relations community in Africa, and abroad. And we are committed to building what I hope will become the first truly global communications services company from Africa,” Ayeni said.

BHM is listed as having an Absolute Growth Rate (AGR) percentage of 49.5, with annual revenue of $4,000,000 (USD) in 2021.

The impressive showing by the organisation was further highlighted by BHM remaining the sole public relations company listed in the 2023 rankings.

The public relations firm’s growth can be attributed to its aggressive expansion efforts despite the economic ramifications of the Covid-19 pandemic. BHM has, in the last three years, expanded into the United Kingdom, and set up operations in Kenya and Ghana. A United States of America operation is also to begin later in August.

In reaction to the report, Ayeni Adekunle, the chief executive officer of BHM, lauded the efforts of partners and clients, which had helped the company expand. The CEO reiterated the company’s commitment to building a global communications services company from Africa.
