A Criminal Court sitting in Benin City in Edo State, on Friday, remanded seven suspects over their involvement in the recent cult clashes in the Benin City metropolis.

The seven suspects, who were arrested in connection with the resurgence of cult-related clashes in Benin City, were remanded in prison custody by Hon. Justice Efe Ikponmwonba, presiding in Criminal Court 1, Benin City.

The suspects, namely; Esosa Eregeorowo, Frank Obaze, Minister Godwin, Jeremiah Timothy, Jimoh Lasisi, Osasu Idehen and Idehen Marvis, were arraigned for conspiracy to commit murder and membership of an unlawful society.

Ruling on an application brought by the Prosecutor, the court ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Oko Correctional Centre in Benin City, pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in the State.
