The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) in Kebbi State has admitted 3, 062 students for the 2022/2023 academic session.
While availing the new students the rules and regulations governing the institution in a speech presented during the 8th matriculation ceremony held in Birnin Kebbi metropolis, vice chancellor of the university, Prof Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, enjoyed them to build on positive tendencies the university can be proud of.
He urged them to shun negative tendencies such as cultism, examination malpractice, drunkenness and disrespect to constituted authorities for which the university has zero tolerance.
The vice chancellor who urged the students to consider themselves as lucky to be matriculated out of ten thousand applicants, implored them to be security conscious and report any suspicious character or strange persons to the university authorities.
He revealed that the National University Commission (NUC) approved the university to run nine part time programmes in sciences commencing in the 2023/2024 academic session.
He assured that the university under his watch would improve the vibrancy of academic activities in order to make the institution a destination of choice for all.
