Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria has congratulated Nigerians especially the Muslim faithful over the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and commended the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) for a hitch-free exercise.

In a statement issued by the national publicity secretary, Muhammed Sola Hassan, the group said that this year was much easier to travel for Umrah unlike last year because more seats were allotted to Nigeria.

“I congratulate you, all Nigerian Muslim Ummah and the entire Muslim World on this auspicious occasion of the 1444AH Eid-el-Kabir celebration. I pray to Allah to grant us the privilege of witnessing many more in good health.

“Alhamudillaah, this year’s Eid-el-Adha is relatively easier for the global Ummah, compared to the last couple of years. This is because the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Custodian of the two holy mosques) increased pilgrimage capacity this year; hence, all interested countries were given increased Hajj slots. I hope and pray this is sustained for many years to come.

“In the Nigeria scenario, I wish to commend NAHCON for their efforts to make the exercise a hitch-free one. In the same breath, I wish to encourage them to double their administrative and oversight efforts on their licenced agents to minimise or even eliminate all challenges experienced by intending pilgrims. Some of the graphics of stranded pilgrims at our airports have gone viral for several days, and these are not good for our image as Muslims,” Hassan said.
