Senator representing Plateau South in the 10th National Assembly AVM Napoleon Bali has said the new minority leader in the Senate, Senator Simon Mwadkwon, has capacity to lead the opposition in the Senate.
Bali said the minority leader will bring his wealth of experience, and knowledge of the dynamics of the polity, to provide the desired leadership and candor in directing the affairs of the minority caucus in the Senate.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Jos, Bali also expressed confidence in the abilities of the minority leaders to effectively perform their roles.
Bali added that “ Our brand new Minority leader Senator Mwadkwon is a thorough breed politician, who has demonstrated exceptional legislative skills and competence, while serving in the House of Representatives .”
He noted that Mwadkwon has what it takes to rally the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators, the Labour party senators and that of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) senators and other parties in the red chamber as a formidable opposition in the Senate as he has been tested and trusted.
The senator insisted that the new Minority leader played a major role in the People’s Democratic Party victory in the recently concluded Governorship election in Plateau. Senator Mwadkwon is a real detribalised Nigerian, who sees everybody as his partner in the Nigerian project’.
He called on senators from the minority caucus to support Mwadkwon as he would deliver and ensure that citizens of the country are provided with the necessary dividends of democracy.
