The vice Chancellor who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof. Philip Uso Afaha, commended the students for being an inspiration to others.

“We are making efforts to provide infrastructure to enable our students to pass out well and have the opportunity to interact with people outside the university and always remember that you are ambassadors of this university and you are expected to keep its flag high.

“Always remember that the oath you are taking guides you throughout your lifetime. You are expected to do your job well.”

For his part, the dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Olorunfemi Cornelius Jegede, charged the graduates to stand tall in integrity, impeccable in character, professional in service, alert to global trends and uphold high ethical and professional standards.

“I am charging you on behalf of the Faculty, to be worthy ambassadors and as such, always bear in mind that you are an envoy or a representative of the Faculty in whichever endeavor you might find yourself in the future.

“The training you received in the Vet School, imparted on you, molded you both in character and learning, therefore utilize that basic knowledge, acquire and perfect your skills and apply them diligently wherever the duty calls. Distinguish yourselves as Veterinarians even among other professions because ours is a NOBLE one.

“Do not allow the vanity of the world to cloud your sense of judgement. The success in any field of human activity is conditioned not only upon talent but also the moral and volitive qualities of people who realise it. Do your best to excel and manifest profound virtues as you enter into the larger world,” he said.
