Nigerians Unite For Tinubu/Shettima Mandate (NUFTS), Kogi State chapter, has lauded what they described as “the gallant and defiant strides” of Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, in the face of numerous challenges encountered during her time in office, and in the course of her championing the campaigns for the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidency.

The accolades were made in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, after the meeting of the State Executives of the group and all its 21 Local Government coordinators.

The group stated that Aliyu went all out to ensure the gospel of Renewed Hope got to all the nooks and crannies of Kogi State.

According to them, her support “salvaged their campaigns” to canvas and mobilise for votes for the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima during the February presidential election and subsequent elections.

The group further noted the “dignity and resilience with which she discharged her official responsibilities under the last administration” in spite of being the ’junior minister’, while affirming that Kogites are proud of her conduct and character.

The group also commended the then minister for putting up a gigantic campaign office in Lokoja and named it APC Unity House, the office which was well equipped and furnished to standard during campaign preparations.

It said the office was one of the best campaign offices in the North Central which served and continues to serve as a hub for progressive activities in the State.

The group also disclosed that Aliyu also embarked on educational outreach programs, medical outreach programs, palliatives support programs, community development projects, in particular, water supply and solar lighting projects, as well as campaigns vehicle across all the Local Governments in the State.

Mr Ola Adekunle, coordinator of NUFTS in Kogi State, noted that the group has therefore urged other “leaders to emulate this brand of progressive politics without bitterness.”

This in their opinion “is what is needed to make Nigeria a better place.”
