The Team New Nigeria (TNN), yesterday said President  Bola Tinubu’s emergence as chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) attest to the confidence other member-states have on him.

President of TNN, Modibbo Yakubun Farakwai, said this while congratulating Tinubu on his emergence as chairman of the regional body.

Modibbo said, “Your election to the highest office of the ECOWAS attests to the confidence and trust that all member states have in your vision for the future of the West African sub-region.

“Such an accomplishment is not only representative of your own determination but the will of Nigeria to ensure the effective delivery of the ECOWAS towards the needs of all member states, irrespective of the level of development and size”.

He further noted: “TNN commends the excellent strides that you have undertaken during your term as former Governor of Lagos State; you have proven a capable leader in a demanding role.

“We are confident that all the characteristics, knowledge and wisdom with which you are endowed as a progressive and as well as a renowned democrat will be mirrored during your tenure as the Chairman of the ECOWAS.

“ECOWAS is an indispensable anchor of the multilateral system.

It provides a vital framework through which member states work together to meet such unprecedented challenges as security, human rights, development, migration, and

“Humanitarian crises. These and other priorities that member states must address require a collaborative, effective, and results-oriented leader in the ECOWAS Secretariat, and we have that in President Bola Tinubu.
