Innovation has led to a more enticing offering

People have always enjoyed gaming. The world’s population play board games with loved ones, they used to sample classic products like Tetris on a gaming device like a Game Boy, and people continue to explore online gaming thanks to improved internet access, while also venturing to renowned gaming locations like the Bellagio, a top venue that is among the ten best casinos in the world. While these options understandably appeal, many of the gaming products people can sample in today’s world have reached new heights, too.

Thankfully, for Nigeria’s domestic games industry, there are some homegrown companies making an impact in this lucrative category of entertainment. These companies, plus a range of other respected companies in Africa, are aiming to record global success and make their very own impact in an area of entertainment that recorded total revenues of $180.3 billion in 2021 alone. A big name in this particular space, Edu Shola Games is a games developer whose namesake is widely regarded as a pioneer on the continent of Africa and a respected personality who has inspired many other developers in this part of the world.

The company’s range of games has recorded notable success, with hit releases including the likes of App Rush, which was actually Edu Shola’s first-ever creation, alongside other games, such as Chike the Sky Raider, an immersive product that is featured in Lagos. Although Edu Shola Games haven’t managed to impact global audiences yet, it’s a company with a seemingly bright future.

Maliyo Games release titles Nigerians can relate to

Another established Nigerian name in this intriguing area of entertainment is Maliyo Games, a company that’s behind a number of successful mobile releases. With a series of smash-hit products to its name, Maliyo Games has even managed to sign a recent agreement with a Spanish technology company, called Telecoming, in an attempt to reach gamers around the world.

Founded by Hugo Obi, this growing company is looking to add to its catalog of releases that have already recorded big numbers, such as excellent creations like Aboki Run, Okada Ride, and Whot King.

Other companies with big plans

While the aforementioned Edu Shola Games and Maliyo Games are two of the biggest Nigerian companies that are aiming to bring a number of enticing gaming products to gamers, they aren’t the only Nigerian names with big plans.

Thanks to a team of bright Nigerian minds, the likes of Kuluya Games, a company with a strong focus on developing African-themed products, and Gamsole, a respected name that shares numerous captivating titles with Nigerian gaming audiences, are also managing to make giant strides and gain a solid reputation in the process.
