Palestinian government has intensified its call on the international community, especially the United Nations to compel Israel to abide by the requirements of the proposed two-state solution to the lingering crisis between Palestine and Israel.

Palestine also alleged that the current Israeli government is being ultra-conservative, and bent in putting stumbling blocks to the resolution of the conflict between the two countries, adding that Israel occupies greater percent of West Bank and Gaza, leaving Palestine with less.

The Ambassador of Palestine to Nigeria, Abdallah Abu Shawesh made this call during an interactive conference with diplomatic Press Corps in Abuja, adding that Palestine has been trying to convince the international Community to support the Two-State Solution to end Palestine-Israeli conflict but this has been blocked by Israel and its supporters.

Shawesh explained that Palestine is controlling less than twenty percent of Area A and twenty percent of West Bank as Area B, making forty precent of Area A and B while the Israeli are controlling sixty percent of Palestine West Bank.

“Palestinian as a country is fully under the control of Israel.  Before the war in 1948, Palestine had their sea ports, currency, Central Bank among others which is why they have called on the international community to find a solution to Israeli attacks on the innocent civilians taken in refugee camps.

“The Palestinian Authority government is totally in support of the two-State solution after all areas of disagreement have been amicably settled, and the solution should be in practical level not only in theoretical level or with lip service,” he said.

The Palestinian envoy also alleged that the Israeli government is using delay tactics and going back on agreements reached in the past by putting obstacles to the resolution of the conflict.

He, therefore, called on the international community to apply pressure on the Israel government to stop its aggression against Palestinian people.

“Two-State solution refers to an arrangement where Israel and Palestinian states co-exist in the region.

“The two-State solution supported by the United States government and numerous countries in the world has not materialized because of four main reasons namely: Borders, Jerusalem, Refugees, and Security,” the envoy noted.
