The spokesman of the Police in the state, Okasanmi Ajayi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday morning.

Ajayi said that men of the Command’s Anti-kidnapping Unit stationed within the Isin axis, local hunters and vigilantes gave the abductors a hot chase, which led to the abandonment of the Siena bus conveying the victims at the time of incident, and rescued one of the kidnap victim, Oke Olatunji.

“Also, the special tactical team of the Command on search and rescue operation in the forests within Isin led by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, on Saturday rescued another victim identified as Femi Ajayi, who sustained bullet injury and was taken to the health centre in Isanlu-Isin, where he is currently receiving medical attention,” he said.

The police spokesman added that, “the remaining three kidnapped victims were released late last night (Saturday) by their abductors as a result of the pressure mounted by the command’s tactical team and the vigilantes led by CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi.”

He added that efforts were on to arrest the suspected kidnappers.

Meanwhile, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi inspected the police post in the town and promised to increase the number of officers in the station to further enhance the safety and security of the people in the area,” Ajayi added.
