Kebbi Gives Relief Items To Victims Of Windstorm

The   Kebbi State  government through the state emergency management agency (KSEMA) yesterday handed over relief materials to 100 persons affected by windstorm in Zauro town of Birnin Kebbi local government area of the state.

Presenting the items to the victims at the district head’s palace, the executive director of KSEMA,  Abbas Rabiu Kamba, said 299 victims would benefit from the gesture.

The items included bundles of zinc,  mats, bags of cement,  packets of  nails, bundles of planks,  sacks of maize,  millet and rice as well as bundles of blankets.

He added that a committee had been constituted for the immediate commencement of the distribution of the items to the affected persons.

He commended the state government for providing the items for onward distribution to the victims.

The KSEMA director urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items, and warned that anybody caught diverting or selling them would be arrested and prosecuted.
