The Department of State Services (DSS) has chided the Defence Counsel to the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Maxwell Okpara, over his alleged campaign of calumny against the Director General of the DSS, Yusuf Magaji Bichi.

The Secret Police also lambasted Okpara over his defence of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

LEADERSHIP reports that Emefiele is currently in DSS custody and facing trial for alleged possession of a firearm without licence.

The DSS, which took to its Twitter handle on Tuesday, called Okpara unprintable names for allegedly mobilising ‘likes-minded’ Lawyers against Bichi, describing the Lawyer’s action as transferred aggression.

The agency also insinuated that Emefiele might be an IPOB member given Okpara’s support for him.

DSS wrote: “Charge and bail, overzealous uninformed IPOB/ESN lawyer Maxwell Okpara mobilises other like minded lawyers against DGSS. Futile Efforts. Well, Nigerians, beware! This is in bad faith. Transferred

aggression.

“A Biafran Republic agitator and Outlawed IPOB counsel defending the suspended CBN Governor. Is IPOB defending one of theirs???? What a contradiction…..hmmm…what’s the connection? Is someone telling us something? May Maxwell be properly educated on points of law, please.”
