In commemoration of the new year Hijrah 1445 AH by Muslims, Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has declared Wednesday, July as a public holiday.
He also fixed the same day for the inauguration and swearing-in of new Commissioners following their confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
These were contained in separate statements released to journalists on Tuesday in Osogbo, the State capital, by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties, Mr Mudashiru Oyedeji, and the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, respectively.
In the statement signed by Oyedeji, he also said Governor Adeleke will preside over a special march past on Saturday at Osogbo Township Stadium to take a symbolic salute as part of series of activities lined up to mark the new Islamic year.
Meanwhile, the second statement by Mallam Rasheed, reads in part: “Governor Ademola Adeleke has fixed tomorrow Wednesday 19th of July for the inauguration and swearing in of the newly appointed commissioners.”
He added that the event is billed to hold at the Local Government Service Commission building, Government Secretariat, Osogbo, by 10 am.
“All commissioners designates are to be seated before 10am,” Rasheed stated.
