Coalition of South East Youth Leaders has appealed to the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Abia State, Okey Ahiwe to withdraw his petition against the winner, Alex Otti.

The coalition stated this in a statement by its president general, Goodluck Ibem, yesterday in Umuahia, saying, “Ahiwe and the former ruling party should allow the people of the state to breathe”.

“His petition against the victory of the Labour Party candidate is a distraction to both the governor and the people of the state and should not be allowed to continue.

“Otti’s mandate is divine and any distraction against it from any quarters will not be tolerated by the people who over the years have been longing for democracy dividends from their governors.

“It beats our imagination that Ahiwe has choosen to be an agent of distraction by not letting the people breathe via his needless petition before the election petitions tribunal.”

“We call on Ahaiwe, Ikpeazu and his co-travelers to withdraw this distractive petition against Otti and also to return all properties and funds they looted from the government while leaving office,” the statement added.
