GEIL Bags Awards At NAICE 2023 Conference

Green Energy International Limited (GEIL), the operator of Otakikpo Marginal Field” OML 11 has bagged 2 awards at the just concluded Society of Petroleum Engineers Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE 2023).
The conference and exhibition with the theme “Balancing Energy Accessibility, Affordability, and Sustainability: Strategic Options for Africa” was held in Lagos from July 31st to August 2nd 2023, bringing industry experts from around the world to discuss the roadmap for Africa’s oil and gas sector.
The awards for Best First time Exhibitor and Most Innovative Exhibitor were presented to the company due to the high-level innovative exhibition booth the company presented in which had an onshore terminal and export
Infrastructure currently under construction, a flow station and LPG plant, all in 3D model, beating other contenders in the category including Seplat, NNPC and SLB.
While receiving the award, the General Manager, Reservoir and Production at Green Energy International Limited, Mr. Tamuno Otaji commended the organisers for the recognition.
Otaji stated that “We are happy to be recognized for the innovative presentation of our work in this industry. In a short time from now, the impact of our strategic drive as a company will be felt in the oil and gas industry on a global scale.”
Also commenting, General Manager, Projects at GEIL, Johnson Akinyemi, noted that the company was pioneering some innovative ideas in the industry which will benefit the entire sector and country in the long run. According to him, “We’re not your regular indigenous oil company, we are focused and driven largely by innovative ideas which has been disrupting the oil and gas industry for some time now.
Akinyemi added that, “In the next few months, the oil and gas landscape will be completely changed by the innovative project we are currently implementing to improve sustainability in our industry.” He said GEIL will continue to champion such courses while encouraging local content in the Nigerian oil and gas sector.
The company recently commenced the construction of an onshore terminal and export infrastructure, the first by an indigenous E&P company in Nigeria, a facility that boasts of having the capacity to hold 750,000 barrels of oil at any time designed to be expandable to 3 million barrels.
