The Wilson and Yinka Badejo Foundation (WYBF) has awarded scholarships to 50 indigent students, appealing for more support for brilliant but indigent students in the country.

The foundation makes the appeal ahead of its forthcoming 16th annual lecture themed “Negotiating a Fairer Nigeria” and scholarship awards, slated for August 16th, 2023 in Lagos.

At a press briefing at the weekend ahead of the lecture, the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the WYBF, Dr. Osaren Emokpae, stressed the need to bridge gaps as a way of growing and developing the nation.

Emokpae noted that there is need for the government as well as the private sector to focus on increasing help towards advancing the education level of indigent students so as to allow them to flourish.

The chairman of the board of trustees of WYBF, who also spoke at the press conference explained that the dream of the NGO’s founder was to put smiles on the faces of people, especially the downtrodden masses, the less privileged, and those who, for reasons other than their faults, have been displaced from the country’s economic equilibrium.
