Sanwo-Olu Appoints Kosoko GM Lagos Television

Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Mrs Olusola Kosoko as the general manager of the Lagos State Television (LTV).

This was made known through the permanent secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Lagos State Mr. Olumide Shogunle, in a letter signed by the Head of Service Hakeem Muri Okunola.

Kosoko until her substantive appointment was the acting general manager/director Content Control and Operations, LTV.

The new general manager, Lagos State Television, Kosoko Adesola Ibironke, has over 25 years of experience in broadcasting, working in both radio and television as an on air presenter and content provider.

She started her broadcasting experience around 1998 with Radio Lagos /Eko FM as an On – Air – Presenter (OAP).

She was selected after an audition to become the new face of Lagos State Television (LTV) which changed the looks and feels of the station and made it the toast of everyone during the era of Mr. Jimi Odumosu who was then the general manager trying to rebrand station and was in search of a face and talent for the TV station. Kosoko then became the face of the TV and ran the station’s flagship programs ‘AM Saturday live’.

She holds a Master Degree in Public and International Affairs and Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A English (Linguistics), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife-1998.

Her past positions and work experiences includes: Presenter/Newscaster Radio Lagos Eko FM, 1992-2001; Presenter /Newscaster Lagos Television, 1999 to date; Head Corporate Affairs of Lagos Television, 2001-2002; Team Lead Main News LTV, 2002-2007; Team Lead Edition 12 LTV, 2002 – 2010; Head Content Control and Operation of Lagos Television, 2017-2018 and Head Current Affairs of Lagos Television, 2020.

In line of her duty as a broadcaster, Kosoko has been honoured with several awards, some of which are:  Awards: Best TV Presenter by Awoseyin, 2004; Platinum Records Honorary Award, 2005; Friends of COWLSO, 2009; Agency for Mass Education Appreciation Award, 2021; Oyin Concept Role Model Award for Outstanding Presenter of the Year, 2023 and Dbard Creative Media Award for Outstanding Achievement, 2023 among others.
