Kebbi LG Chairmen Get N675m Furniture Allowance

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved N675 million for the payment of furniture allowance to the elected 21 local government area chairmen in the state.

The governor’s chief press secretary disclosed this yesterday in a statement he made available to Journalists at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

 Idris quoted the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Umar as saying that “the approval is for 2022 to 2024.”

While appreciating the governor for the gesture, the permanent secretary commended him for making life meaningful to the people and for executing projects that have direct bearing on them.

Reacting to the development, the ALGON chairman, who also doubles as the chairman, Birnin Kebbi local government area, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed, expressed appreciation to the governor on behalf of his colleagues.

 He said the money would capture furniture allowance for the local government chairmen, councillors and secretaries.

 “The allowance is long overdue but with the coming of this administration, our amiable governor has graciously approved the allowance; this is a sign of good leadership. May Almighty Allah guide him and give him the wisdom to excellently pilot the affairs of the state,” he said.
