Four persons have died in a clash between Oyofo and Awha villages in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
It was gathered that the clash which occurred on Friday led to the burning of one tricycle and five motorcycles.
The spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the death of the victims.
He said twelve persons were arrested in connection with the clash and murder of the victims.
He disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in the State, Ahmed Ammani, ordered the deployment of police operatives to the two villages.
“The deployment is to maintain the normalcy already restored in the area after the clash, which led to the murder of four (4) males and the burning of one (1) tricycle and five (5) motorcycles.” He stated.
He disclosed that preliminary investigation showed that the clash was a result of land ownership dispute between the villages.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, has ordered the deployment of Police Operatives to Oyofo and Awha villages in Ezeagu Local Government Area, following the communal clash between the villages on 11/08/2023 at about 10am.” He stated.
