JUST-IN: 3 Officers, 22 Soldiers Killed In Niger Ambush – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said three officers and 22 soldiers were killed in an ambush by terrorists in Niger State.

The director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, said no group would ever strike the military without injurious consequence.

He made the statement at the biweekly update of Armed Forces of Nigeria on Thursday.

LEADERSHIP reported that a NAF MI-171 Helicopter had crashed on August 14, 2023, at about 1pm near Chukuba village in Shiroro LGA of Niger State while on evacuation mission.

The helicopter had departed Zungeru Primary school enroute Kaduna when the ugly incident.

General Buba added that the aircraft evacuated 14 previously killed soldiers and seven in action before the incident.

The DHQ spokesman also said the helicopter had two pilots and two crew members onboard.
