Governor Yusuf, Ganduje Mourn LEADERSHIP Correspondent, Abdullahi Yakubu

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and All Progressives National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje yesterday extended condolences to the family of Abdullahi Yakubu, the Kano State correspondent of LEADERSHIP Newspaper who died yesterday at the age of 55 after a brief illness.

Kano State commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs extended the condolence on behalf of the governor in a statement issued to newsmen by the press secretary to the deputy governor, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu yesterday.

According to the statement, the governor while expressing his sympathies, acknowledged the significant loss Abdullahi’s death represents.

He prayed for the strength and resilience of the family members, wishing them solace during this difficult time.

Similarly, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, condoled with the management of LEADERSHIP Newspaper and the family over the death.

In a statement signed by his chief of staff, Malam Muhammad Garba yesterday, Ganguje expressed sadness, describing Yakubu as a veteran journalist whose death is a big loss to Kano State and the entire northern Nigeria.

“Words cannot express how sad His Excellency the APC national chairman felt when he learnt of the passing of the hardworking journalist who contributed immensely to the growth of our dear state,” he said.

He prayed that Almighty Allah grants his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Burial rites of the late journalist were conducted yesterday. He is survived by a wife and children.
