Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya (rtd) and other high-ranking military officials have stressed the need for capacity building of commanders and subordinates to overcome myriad of security challenges facing the nation.

They made the call at the unveiling of a book in honor of the former Commandant of the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA),  Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf (rtd).

The book, which is a compendium of written tributes dedicated to Major General Yusuf, intends to serve as a guiding manuscript for the aspiring cadres of Junior Officers within the military echelons.

Titled ‘Welfare, Command And Capacity Building In Nigeria,’ the literary work was formally unveiled at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in the heart of Abuja, on Thursday.

General Yahaya emphasised the importance for commanders to prioritise the well-being and consistent training of their subordinates.
