A tech giant, Go My Code has called on Nigerians to develop their technological skills to avoid being left behind in a fast-changing world.

According to the company, there is a huge gap between job openings for people with skills in the tech industry and those with training to fill the jobs.

And at a time when jobs are being replaced by machines and Artificial Intelligence, Go My Code projects as many as 200 million job openings in the tech industry in the next couple of years.

The country director of the company, Mr Babatunde Olaifa stated this yesterday during the launch of their office in Abuja.

Olaifa maintained that technology has become so vital to every human endeavour that those who fail to upgrade may soon lose their jobs.

According to him, the company has been organising a free weekly master class to train tech enthusiasts as part of their social responsibility programme while some months-long trainings are held at affordable costs.

He said the company headquartered in Tunisia has trained over 30,000 globally since its establishment about six years ago while over 1,000 have been up-skilled since their entrance into the country via Lagos.
