The lawmaker stated this while congratulating Umahi on his appointment and swearing in as minister.

Umahi was sworn in with 44 others as members of the federal executive council yesterday by President Bola Tinubu at Presidential Villa Abuja on Monday.

In a press statement, Senator Eze, said that the emergence and subsequent assumption of office as minister of Works will bring a new vista to the development of the country’s decaying infrastructure, especially the country’s massive road network.

Eze, who chairs the Senate Committee chairman on Information and National Orientation, described Senator Umahi as “an all-rounder and a life coach, an iconic leader and a renowned trailblazer, a super engineer of higher repute, and an infrastructural doyen who has always demonstrated capacity, competence, and diligence in speedy delivery of quality infrastructural projects for modern development,” adding that “yes, you are a great idol and have over the years remained a rich encyclopedia of advanced politics, good governance, use of power, and quality leadership, for the upcoming political leaders across board.

He said as a Nigerian patriot who has really shown great passion and hunger to richly contribute to fixing the infra-socio-political and economic needs of our dear country, the former governor of Ebonyi State’s infrastructural revolution in Ebonyi State “is ever legendary and monumental, and as Honorable Minister for Works, Nigeria is highly blessed, as all her infrastructural needs are already resolved with you in charge.

“I am of the firm belief that your appointment and subsequent swearing in as substantive Minister for Works is a sure road to massive engineering works on our roads.

“The much you did in Ebonyi State still speaks volumes about the man in you—a person who has a passion for the development of his country. I have no doubt that with you as a minister in the all-important and strategic ministry, Nigerians will see better road networks and other engineering masterpieces, as you have proven in Ebonyi State.”

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the choice he made in appointing Senator Umahi as a minister, describing it as the right choice well made.
