Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has condemned the armed robbery attack on students at Female Hostel D on the main campus of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.
Fubara, who spoke yesterday when he paid an unscheduled visit to the University campus, promised that the state government would provide medical attention for the affected female students.
The governor assured that an investigation that had opened would unravel the perpetrators and bring them to book.
Meanwhile, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed the satisfaction with work done on some of the ongoing projects across the state.
Fubara, who spoke with newsmen shortly after an inspection tour round a number of projects in four local government areas of the state said he would ensure that the desired quality was delivered.
The projects inspected included the 10.3 kilometre Indorama-Agbonchia-Ogale-Ebubu-East West Link Road, the 19.1 kilometre Oyigbo-Okoloma (Afam) Road, the Comprehensive High School, Alesa-Eleme, the Botem- Gbene-nu Horo Road, the Community Secondary School, Koroma-Tai, and the Government Secondary School in Eneka Town.
He said though his administration was still in its early days, the zeal to work more in advancing the interest of the state would be sustained to ensure that every Rivers person feels the benefits of the development strides.
Fubara said: “I am happy with what I saw. You can see the level of work going on in the secondary schools.
The number of workers shows that the contractors are serious.”
