Taraba State governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has called on the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to build more entrepreneurship centres in Taraba State to train the youths in different skills.

The governor made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the TETFUND office in Abuja.

Kefas is also seeking the construction of e-libraries and computer-based test centres to cater for students preparing for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

He said a partnership with TETFUND was necessary to have quality education in the state.

The governor promised to personally supervise any project undertaken by TETFUND in the state.

He briefed TETFUND’s executive secretary, Sunny Ochono on the declaration of his free education policy and downward review of school fees of higher institutions.

The governor identified lack of education as one of the key reasons for insecurity noting that when everyone is in school, nobody would be engaged in perpetrating evil.

The executive secretary, TETFUND, Arc Sonny Echono said the governor’s request would be treated as one of their frontline issues.

He stated that TETFUND has been in some institutions in the state carrying out physical structures and training staff, adding that they will partner with Taraba State as key stakeholders.
