Abia State deputy governor Ude Oko Chukwu has hosted the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, High Chief Ikechi Emenike as part of Emenike’s consultations with the stakeholders on his ambition.
Speaking at his Etitiama Nkporo residence in Ohafia local government area of the state yesterday, Chukwu assured that he would participate in whatever is required of him to move the state forward.
“No man or woman is bigger than where he or she comes from. We will do all we can to raise the bar. Anybody who is in that direction has my support,” he noted.
“You can’t take it away from him that he is a forthright and honest person and this is what I want in this business. He has the virtues we need in a leader to move the state forward,” he said.
“Happily, I have seen that he is prepared and has what we need to move the state forward,” added the deputy governor, who had also served as the speaker of the state House of Assembly.
In his speech, Emenike commended Chukwu for the impact he has made both on the community and the state and his humble disposition, adding that with his support, he would make inroads into the community.
“We are consulting people like you. Nkporo will not regret this visit. I assure you that If we win, the community will not regret it. My vision is to rescue and develop the state,” according to the developmental journalist.
“I will create a third world state in a third world country. Our manifesto will show what we will do. We will create employment. We will build infrastructure and institutions that will sustain them,” he added.
Earlier, the Abia North zonal organizing secretary of the party and former deputy chairman of the area council, Hon Sampson Orji urged both of them to work together to “secure our bulk votes during the election.”
