Speaking during the flag-off in Kaduna, Governor Sani said his administration made a firm commitment to build and strengthen a health care system that is preventive in approach, well equipped and staffed, accessible and affordable, and oriented to deliver a decent standard of care.

Sani said he has fulfilled his promise to strengthen and expand the standard of services at the Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs). “We are prioritizing health care because a healthy population is a productive population. We are keen on revitalizing the economy. We want to reinvent the rural economies through massive infrastructural development. A healthy population will play a critical role in this revitalization effort,”

The governor while commending public and private partners, urged citizens, health managers and professionals to effectively monitor the utilisation of the equipment.

“We must ensure that they are well maintained and protected. They are our own equipment. We must take interest in their maintenance and protection.

“Our prioritization of the primary healthcare level is deliberate. The primary health care centres, situated strategically across our 255 wards, are the first line of defence against illnesses and diseases that can affect any one of us. If we get it right at the primary level, the burden or pressure on the secondary and tertiary levels would be drastically reduced. Our people would be healthier and child and maternal mortality would drop,” Sani said.
