The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) yesterday officially kicked off the maintenance projects for the year 2023 in Northeast II Zone, which comprises Gombe, Bauchi and Adamawa states.

The exercise started with the flag-off of the 5th phase of road construction in Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe aimed at addressing the menace of gully erosion while opening up the facility for infrastructural and other development work.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the zonal coordinator, North-East II, Engineer Irikefe Eugene Baror assured of the agency’s commitment to improving road network within the hospital so as to make it safe and convenient for all.

The coordinator explained that the 5th phase of the road project in FTH as well as other parts of the region is a clear demonstration of FERMA’s mandate to maintain federal roads and bridges across the country.
