Umahi Assured Attention For Ideato Erosion, Failed Imo-Anambra Road — Ugochinyere

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, has said that he got the assurance of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, that the bad roads and gully erosion in his constituency will be repaired.

Recall that Ugochinyere in a statement on Tuesday had pleaded with the Minister to save Ideato from extinction by fixing Umuchima Gully erosion, Orlu-Akokwa Road and Nnewi-Uga-Akokwa-Arondizuogu Federal Roads, transcending Anambra and Imo States.

The lawmaker’s appeal was sequel to the adoption of his motion seeking repairs of the roads and gully erosion site, by the House of Representatives earlier in July.

In a statement he personally signed on Thursday, the lawmaker said the Minister told him not to worry that he has seen and heard his appeals and that he will work towards doing his best to help Ideato people survive the challenges.

Ugochinyere said his communication with the Minister was reassuring and that the Minister was concerned and will work within all possibilities to help Ideato.

He praised the Minister for his commitment and readiness to solve national infrastructure challenges and expressed his confidence in Umahi’s capacity not to deliver only on Ideato Road challenges but the entire nation.

Ugochinyere said, “I commend the Minister of Works, David, his commitment towards solving the perennial issue of bad roads in the country. I had appealed to him to see that the resolutions of my motions adopted by the House of Representatives to fix the gully erosion in Mgbe/Umuezeala/Ogboko Bypass in Ideato South and reconstruct the failed portions of the Oba-Aquata-Akokwa- Arondizuogu-Okigwe Road in Idemili North/ldemili South, Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo, Aguata and Ideato North/ldeato South Federal Constituencies of Anambra and Imo States are complied to. My communication with the Minister is reassuring, and this shows that he’s concerned about the well-being of the citizens and is determined to work within all possibilities to solve the perennial issue of road infrastructure in Nigeria.”
