Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has returned home after spending three months abroad for his medical leave.
Akeredolu has been away in Germany for about three months treating an undisclosed ailment.
LEADERSHIP Friday gathered the governor would move from Lagos airport en route to his residence in Ibadan and stay for a few days before coming to Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Ahead of his arrival, his press crew yesterday left Akure for Lagos to receive him at the airport.
A source said the governor is expected to be briefed by his cabinet members on arrival in the state.
A source said, “I am also aware that some members of the state Exco might likely visit him there to welcome him back to the state”.
A viral picture of Governor Akeredolu inside the airplane he boarded on his way to Nigeria surfaced online yesterday.
As of the time of filing this report, some of his cabinet members were in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital awaiting his arrival.
The governor began his medical leave in June which was extended indefinitely by the state House of Assembly.
The governor had transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in line with constitutional provisions.
Photographs and video of the governor in a German hospital emerged when he celebrated his 67th birthday.
In the video, the governor was seen dancing alongside his wife and associates.
