IHRC Honours Danjuma, Echendu For Humanitarian Service

The International Human Rights Commission, IHRC with headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland has honoured the National President of Mbaise USA, Ochiagha, High Chief, Sir S.O.S. Echendu with an International Humanitarian Service Award for 2023.

In a letter conveying the award and signed by the Secretary General of the International Human Rights Commission, IHRC, Prof H.C. Rafal Marein Wasik and the Head of the Diplomatic Mission, Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Duru Hezekiah stated that his selection was based on his invaluable humanitarian works over the years in upholding humanitarian rights in Nigeria and the United States.

The IHRC further stated that his leadership of MBAISE USA and his non-for profit organization, S.O.S & LADY IJ ECHENDU FOUNDATION has consciously bequeathed inalienable rights to the less privileged ones in Nigeria in the areas of Health, Education and Economic empowerment.

ihrcThe National President of MBAISE USA, High Chief S.O.S. Echendu will be conferred with the International Humanitarian Service award along side Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff, General T.Y. DANJUMA,GCON,FSS on the 8th of September,2023 during a special symposium on INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW AND ARMED CONFLICTS:AN AFRICAN PERSPECTIVE holding at Nigeria’s International Conference Centre, Abuja.

In his acceptance letter, Ochiagha S.O.S. Echendu expressed profound appreciation for the award for its humanitarian value while describing the international symposium as timely due to observable political instability in some African countries and the neglect by some African leaders on the social and economic well-being of their citizens.
