I’m Not Related To Godwin Emefiele, Estate Developer Cries Out

The misconception that Dr Christopher Emefiele, an estate developer, is a relation of Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has been described as untrue.

According to Chukuma Karlson Emefiele, Dr Christopher Emefiele is not related to Mr Godwin Emefiele by blood.

Determined to correct the wrong representation, Chukuma, acting on behalf of the family in a correction titled, “Putting the Records Straight” made available to LEADERSHIP, revealed that they are very different and distinct Emefiele families that happen to come from Agbor, but from different villages.

While Dr Christopher Emefiele hails from the village of Ogbeh-Iwaseh, Mr Godwin Emefiele hails from Aliagwa, just as there is no blood link between the two Emefiele families.

“It is morally and ethically wrong for journalists to write and disseminate incorrect information. Let it be known to government institutions.

“It is on record that Chukuma Emefiele has never met Mr Godwin Emefiele. Addressing him as the ex CBN’s siblings and cousin resident in United Kingdom acting as conduits to siphon money out of Nigeria for the ex-banker is unfortunate.

“It is very wrong, totally unacceptable and condemnable. Please be guided by this and for journalists to disseminate false information about Mr Chukuma Emefiele.

“The Emefiele family from Ogbe-Iwaseh, Agbor-Obi in Delta state came from Late Pa Emefiele Arose who passed on to eternal glory in 1981. Pa Emefiele gave birth to four great sons, including Late Pa Elder Roland Konyeri Emefiele, a retired teacher at Obika Primary School, Agbor-Obi, Delta State. He was called to eternal glory in February 2017.”
