Rema, Davido, Ayra Starr, Others Attend 2023 MTV VMAs

Nigerian artistes, Rema, Davido and Ayra Starr attended the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Tuesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

 

LEADERSHIP had earlier reported that an Afrobeats category was added to the nominations for the first time in the award’s history.

 

Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Davido, Fireboy DML, Wizkid, Rema, Cameroonian singer, Libianca were nominated in the new Afrobeats category.

 

Rema was nominated in four categories—including Song of the Year and Best Collaboration along with Selena Gomez for their hit song “Calm Down.”

 

Rema was spotted sitting next to Selena Gomez who wore a floral-inspired red beaded gown from Oscar de la Renta.
